Today, diabetes is now epidemic, according to the Centers for Disease Control, the National Institutes of Health, American Diabetes Association and other national healthcare leaders ? Tim Holden? The modern dietary habits has changed the lifestyle of people around the world making them much more vulnerable to dangerous diseases. Any thing that exists at extremes within the body can cause a major imbalance on the body just like the imbalance in the levels of insulin that occurs due to diabetes. There are three kinds of diabetes that has plagued humanity for many years, which are type 1 insulin dependent, type 2 non-insulin dependent and lastly Gestational diabetes (GDM). The first type is dependent on the provision of insulin from external sources as the pancreas cannot produce adequate insulin any more. The second type causes massive amounts of dehydrations as the kidneys cannot retain water and the person has to ?take a leak? often.
The last type is one of the harshest kinds which happen in pregnant women because their body is not able to produce enough insulin to counter the rise of insulin levels in their body. This also causes problems in pregnancy especially at the time of delivery, and these mothers generally become diabetic within five to ten years after the birth of their child. It is essential to monitor the level of insulin in the body as a precautionary measure, which is necessary for those people who do not have adequate medical insurance coverage to pay off the medical bills. People who suffer from the second type have to ensure that their body is adequately hydrated and they do not contract any problems related to low water content of the body.
The third type which is related to pregnant women that contracted this problem during their pregnancy. If such mothers are single with a limited income, then problem of health care also arises. It becomes a hard task to keep up with their daily needs and medical issues that arises due to diabetes. The laws of the land also prohibits the use of prescription medicine without a doctors approval, however there are many over-the-counter solutions that people can buy without the consultation of a doctor. The issue then is acquiring these supplies at an affordable price since retail pricing can put a staggering hole in your wallet. Too add to the complication, without a prescription one?s insurance company will deem the medical items unnecessary and deny coverage. There are now companies that are trying to provide a viable solution to the over-priced retail items by providing much more affordable options to those without coverage. Some companies will even pay cash for diabetic strips as long as they have not yet expired. Hence it is best to take advantage of this opportunity and not let precious medical supplies go to waste. The companies that buy such medical supplies, sell them to people without medical insurance at a low rate so they can benefit from the medical supplies they need.?
