Ellis (reviews & life): Book Review (Kids)- The Spirit in Football

Encouraging our children to play sports with the fruit of the spirit in mind should be at the for front or our minds and hearts where sports is concerned. This book is filled with the fruit of the spirit and does a good job relating them to the game of baseball.

Each fruit of the spirit has a two page spread. On the first page is a verse that talks about the fruit of the spirit for that page, opposite that page is an illustration and a word of encouragement in kid language as to how to use that particular fruit of the spirit.

There is a lot of extra stuff at the beginning and end of the book that is a little cumbersome for a children's book. Dedications and special thanks that are each whole FULL pages including pictures and at the end there are letters and biographies and other stuff that no kid is going to read. It is interesting for the parents who are reading this stuff to their kids but not necessary.

The page thickness is also an odd thickness. I felt constantly like?I was missing a page because the pages feel like they are two pages thick. All that being said, I think it is a good book to read to our children and emphasize the importance of keeping Christ the center of our lives, even in the sports we play.

I received a free copy of this book from Cross Training Publishing through The B&B Media group. Thanks!
