How to look after a baby bird who's mother has died? | Pets All Day

How do you look after a baby bird that is still in the nest in a small tree when it?s mother will not be coming back. It puts its head up occasionally for food but i do not know what to do or give it and do not want it to die. I am pretty sure it is a black bird and it is starting to get its feathers. Any advice please. Thanks for the answers, note: there has never been a dad it was only with the one parent bird and now with none. It is fully standalone.
